Money Changing

With the development of morden science technology, Tibet has benefits a lot from it, the most notable change is that people don't need to carry too much cash on while they are travel in and out of Tibet.

In Tibet now, there are several banks which offer this kind of service on currency remittance. ATM machines are supplied. Now it is easy and convenient to cash your credit card.For foreign travellers, the only bank which has the service to cash their credit cards is the Bank of China, which is located in the proper centre of Lhasa city, close to the new symbol of Lhasa --The Golden Yaks (made of copper) and Potala palace. A ATM machine also served, but sometimes this ATM doesn't work.Hotels and some souvenir shops accept credit card, but 4% service charge will be put on your card. The Bank of China will do the same.

If travellers don't want to pay this charge, the better way is to have cash on hand before entering Tibet.

Traveller cheques are also welcome.
