Procedure and Regulations

for Foreign Travelleres and People from H.K., Macau, Taiwan

1)Travellers from other countries, H.K., Macau and Taiwan should apply for a travel permit through travel agency in Chian, they will help to process it from Tibet relative organs, and representative offices across China.

2)Tourists applying for a travel permit should surply the travel agents with such valid personal datas as: Full name, Sex, Age, Nation, Occupation, valid Pssaport Number.

3)Tourists can apply for China visa from the China Embassy/Consulate in their countries. But tourists from nations which have previllage on mutual exemption of visa agreement with China are exceptional.

4)Tibet autonomous region has set up representative offices in such cities as Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Shanghai, Xining, Golmud and Hongkong, and in such nations as Nepal, U.S.A., and Japan, foreign tourists can go and consult.

5)Original travel permit is required when tourists are buying air tickets, bus tickets into Tibet.

6)Tourists who are entering China from Kathmandu, Nepal are requred to apply for China visa and travel permit from the China embassy in Nepal, and purchase air tickets. Tourists are NOT allowed to go into Tibet from Nepal side with number below 5 paxes (including 5).

7)There is NO regulations and restrictions on tourist number when ther exit China into Nepal.

8)If members of a tour group need to leave Tibet ealier than the schedual, no matter what reasons they hold (sickness or death), they need to split the group visa first in Public Securety Bureau in Tibet.

9)Tourist are not to take out samples of all kinds from Tibet, conduct natural resourses inverstigation without permission, theses kinds of actions are illegal.

10)Repoters, diplomats and personels with diplomatic rank are to pass special procedure.
