Longmen grottos, Luoyang

Longmen grottos, also called 'Longmen Shiku', is one of the 4 most well known grottoes in China listed in UNESCO protection, the other two are Yungang grottos in Datong of Shan'xi province, Mogao grottos in Dunhuang of Gansu province and Maijishan grottos

Longgmen gottos is 13 kilometers to the south of Luoyang in Henan province, and the work started in 494 in Beiwei (Northern Wei Dynasty) and finished in northern Song dynasty.

In 199, it was included in the listings of national protection units
