Qhongkejie monastery

Qhongkejie monastery is a famous Gelu - pa monastery. It was built in 1509 by the second Dalahai Lhama.in his time, he was an achieved lhama, once acted as the Khanbu (top leader) of Sera monastery, Tsepung monastery and Tashilunpo monastery, enjoyed high reputation in Gelu pa and pikgrims.

Every year, he would come here and do some research and meditation. later he built a residence for himself and a place to preach Buddhism on the equest of locals.

Qhongkejie monastery is close to the tiny but holy lake Larmunatso lake (this lake was thought to be the image observing lake for finding the infoes to the reincarlated soul boy. (for example what will be the first letter of the boy;s name, where to find, and so on), if you take a trekking to Larmunatso lake, this is a must for your visit and exploration.
