Riwuqi Golden Pagoda
Riwuqi golden pagoda, built in the mid of 15th century by the famous arctect - Tangdong Gyebu, is located in the village of Riwuqi of Angrhen county. This pagoda is in fact a combination of pagoda and monastery. The ground floor of this pagoda takes a shape of a Mandala (the notion of Uiniverse in Buddhism), grandually contracts to the top, the top is built of metal in 3 parts reprenting the fire, the sun and the moon. The height of it is 35 meters, looking from the outside, it presents a shape of a pagoda, but inside, it is hollow, and takes a shape of many chambers, ladders lead to the top. On the wall of the chambers are painted wall paintings. This pagoda looks like the pagoda in Gyangtse - the Perkhor pagoda (built in 1414).
