Day01: Arrive in Xining
Fly to Xining from other city, met and transferred to hotel.
Day02: Xining sightseeing
Drive 25km to Ta'er monastery (located in Huangzhong county), it is the biggest monastery in Qinghai(of Gelupa order) which was the birth place of Chongkhaba (founder of Gelupa). In Xining city, visit the Dongguan Muslim temple (one of the 4 most famous Muslim temples in China).
Day03: Xining to Korkolor Lake
Drive to Korkolor lake from Xining. Korkolor lake (Qinghai lake) is the biggest salty and holy lake in China west. It has a water over 4400 square kilometers. Enjoy the day there on taking boat for sightseeing.
Day04: Korkolor lake to Guide county
Leaving Lake for Gonghe by the road on the southern side of the lake, passing by Heimahe and Daotanghe to Guide county. Guide county is located by the side of Yellow river.
Day05: Guide to Marchen county
Marchen is the political and economic center of Guoluo Tibetan prefecture. It is one of the three Guoluos in Dor - Kham area. On the way, passing Lhagyi mountain pass and visit Lhagya monastery (of Gelupa order, by the Yellow river side) at Jungong. There are many snow peaks around Marchen.
Day06: Marchen to Xueshan
Drive to the base camp of Mt. Animarchen (6282m) which is though and regarded to be the holy mountain in Tibetan area. At the camping site, it is the best place for watching the snow peak of it. By the camping site, there are many river valleys, a nice and easy trekking is worth your stay.
Day07: Xueshan to Marchen town
Drive back to town. Enhance your memory.
Day08: Marchen to Banmar
Drive southward to Dari, on the way, visit the Long'en monastery (of Nyingmapa) at Gange county which is famous for its study of the history of King Gesar. Upon arrival at Dari, go on 15km to visit the dragon and Lion place which was built to commemorate the hero of King Gesar.
Leaving Dari for Banmar, at Banmar county, visit the Juelang monastery (of Juelangpa order).
Day09: Banmar to Serthar
Drive southward along a river, on the way, visit Ya'ertang monastery, then arriving Serthar. Serthar monastery is well known as its Buddhism study and has a huge building complex.
Day10: Serthar to Ganzi
Drive past Luhuo to apporoach Ganzi (to the northwest of Luhuo county). At Luhuo, have a visit to Shoulin monastery. Ganzi is the center of the Norhwest part of Sichuan province, an important relay station on the Sichuan - Tibet highway.
Day11: Ganzi sightseeing
Visit Ganzi monastery which is on the top of a hill in the north of the town, and overlook the whole town; visit the Dargye monastery (Dajinsi) which is about 30km to the west of Ganzi city.
Day12: Ganzi to Xinlong to Litang
Drive along the Yalong river valley, enjoy its nature beauty. At Litang, visit the Litang monastery. The 7th Dalai Lama was born around here and stayed here for sevral years when Tibet was in war in 18th century.
Day13: Litang to Daocheng
Early set out for Daocheng, on the way there, visit the Haizi mountains (here are a lot of rocks and stones in all kinds of shape here, it is also a national park for the remnants from the movement of ancient glaciers) and Rabbit peak (its peak looks like the ears of a rabbit). Haizishan area is a good place for taking photos. Before arriving at Daocheng, visit the Bangpu monastery and Zhigong monastery. At night, enjoy a spring bath.
Day14: Daocheng to Yading
Drive to Yading, choose to ride a horse in or hike into the valley, enjoy the views along the valley. Luorong ranch is a wide grass land, it is surrounded by three snow peaks, two of them are 5958m, the third one is 6032m. The shape of third peak looks like a sword head. Enjoy the sunset at Luorong ranch.
Day15: Yading to Daocheng
The beauty of the snow peaks at Luorong ranch is impressive and wonderful. In 1920s -- 30s, an American adventurer named Luoke once trekked through here, and his writtings about here caused tremendous impact on western adventurers and European society. After here, ride or hike back to entrance. Then drive to Daocheng.
Day16: Daocheng to Zhongdian
Visit the Sangphe monastery at Xiangcheng (land area over 10,000m, built in 1654), then drive on the zigzaging road through mountains to Zhongdian. At Zhongdian, visit Songzhanlin monastery.(the biggest and most famous Tibetan monastery in Yunnan province)
Day17: Zhongdian to Lijiang
Drive to Lijiang from Zhongdian, visit the Tiger jumping gorge at Shigu town, the Jinsha river turns to northeast here. Lijiang old town area looks like traditional Chinese garden style buildings, spend time there strolling around through the old streets and enjoy the beauty of old constructions. At night, opitional choice to enjoy the local Naxi music performance. (Naxi is one of the local minorities)
Day18 Lijiang sightseeing
Leisure time in Lijiang old town area.
Day19: Lijiang to Kunming by air
Fly to Kunming from Lijiang. Upon arriving at Kunming, free time, you can choose to fly back to Home or to other city to connect your tour.
