Day01: Arriving in Chengdu
Fly to Chengdu from your home. Upon arriving, met and transferred to hotel.
Day02: Chengdu to Rilong town
Early departure from Chengdu to Rilong, on the way, pass the Wolong Giant Pandas research base at Wolong town. Visit the Giant Pandas there. Going on and climb over the pass of Balangshan mountain. Arrive in Rilong town in the late afternoon.
Day03: Mt. Siguniang sightseeing
Horse riding or hiking in Haizigou valley, where it is best place to have a grand look of the highest peak.
Day04: Rilong to Tagong
Leaving Rilong town after breakfast,
on both side of roads before and after Danba county town, visit local house buildings, which looks like a tower, narrowed up; at Tagong area, visit Tagong Buddhism college; enjoy the grand view of Muya golden pagoda (self pay to go iinside) and enjoy your time strolling around in the wide and open grassland behind the pagoda.
Day05: Tagong to Bamei to Luhuo
In the morning while in Tagong, visit Tagong monastery (of Sakyapa sect), then turn back and drive northwards to Ganzi, while at Bamei, visit Huiyuan monastery and enjoy the greens of the Longdeng prairie (between Daofu and Bamei).
Day06: Luhuo to Ganzi
In the morning, Visit Linque monastery, which is only about 1.5 kilometers to the north of the town, at Ganzi, pay homage to Ganzi monastery; in the rest of the day, stroll around the city to find out waht are behind the buildings and the newspapers.
Day07: Ganzi to Derge
Drive to Derge which is well known for its Buddhism printing house and its historical role in keeping the Buddhism going. On halfway, passing by Manigange where three roads meet (road to the north is to Yushu, road to west is to Derge and Chamdo, the third is to Ganzi) and climbing over the Chola pass (5050m). Visit Xinluhai (also named as Tsolha lake, elevation: 4040 meters).
Day08: Derge sightseeing
Visit the famous Derge Printing house, inside which are piles of collection of wood carved boards for printing. Many of the collections are rare in the world. And then visit the Gengqing monastery, which is close to printing house and this monastery belongs to Sakyapa order.
Day09: Derge to Baiyu
Drive towards the west till the Jinshajiang river, the turn south to Baiyu. On the way, there are two famous and important visits, one is Palpun monastery (of Kagyulpa order), the other is Gatuo (Kotoic) monastery (of Nyingmapa order). Palpunn monastery is the biggest monastery of Kagyulpa in Kham area and also was thought to be one of its three Home monasteries in Tibetan area (the other two are Tsupu monastery in Lhasa and Kagyul monastery in Chamdo); Gatuo monastery is the most important monastery of Nyingmapa in Kham. Choose one to visit.
Day10: Baiyu sightseeing
At Baiyu, see the impressive Baiyu monastery (of Nyingmapa order), which is on the top of a mountain behind the nice town. The other charms of this town are her style of local houses.
Day11: Baiyu to to Litang
On the way, visit Haizi mountain, which impresses people by its everywhere rocks and small lakes. Haizi mountains are the remnants of glacier movement in geohistory.
At Litang, visit he most famous Litang monastery of Gelupa, in which the 7th Dalai Lama once lived for several years when Tibet was in wars.
Day12: Litang to Khamding
At Xinduqiao, enjoy the special local houses, watching the Mt. Gonggha, which is the highest one in Sichuan (7556m), a site for mountaineers.Khamding is an important town in the Sichuan -- Tibet highway and the starting point of the ancient Tea and Horse Trading road. It was said Khamding was the first city in Tibetan area after leaving Han people inhabited area.
Day13: Khamding to Hailuogou
Drive to Hailuogou for viewing the spectacular glaciers. At Luding county, visit the Luding iron - chain bridge, in 1930s, the red army jumped out of the blocade of its enemy forces. Driving through the Erlangshan pass to get ot Chengdu.
Hailuogou glaciers is the low altitude, low latitude and maritime nature glaciers, which originates from the eastern slope of Mt. Minya Gongga (7556 meters, equal to 24,784ft)
At night, self pay to have hot spring
Day14: Chengdu to other city
Today, leaving Chengdu for other city to connect your planned tours.
