(Aug. 10) Day01: Fly to Lhasa and start this personalised festival trip to Tibet

Taking the morning flight into Tibet, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart - beating highland view along the Yalu Zangbu river (the longest river in Tibet, the lower reach in India is called Brham Putra river); in the afternoon, you are free for relaxing and more Oxygen.
(Aug. 11) Day02: Lhasa sightseeing

In the morning, visit the grand - looking Potala Palace, which was built in the 7th century for the King. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and stroll in the famous local bazaar - Parkhor street. Here, you can deeply feel the life of common people and see how the people are preparing for their grand festival.
(Aug. 12) Day03: Join the Shoton Festival

Today is the first day of Shoton Festival (also named as Xuedun festival) , in the past, this festival was a purely religious celebration, later in the rule of 5th Dalai Lama, it was open a little to some people with high social status, with time going on, this festival becomes a common public celebration held in Drepung monastery first, then move to Norbulinka palace.
In the morning of this day, pay early visit to Drepung monastery to join the grand opening ceremony - Sunning the Tangkha (a huge woven hangings ), this ceremony marks the official set-off of this festival.
In the afternoon, go to Norbulinka to join people's celebrations such as singing songs, dance circles, local exchange market, Tibet opera show and so on.
(Aug. 13) Day04: Join the festival

Today, you are free to arrange your own time and visits in this city, doing such visits as going to Parkhor street market, visiting Ramoche temple, Sera monastery, Medicine hill cliff carvings and Zonggyerukhang (a park behind Potala ).
(Aug. 14) Day05: Lhasa to Shigatse
Meals: B/L/D
Hotel: 3* Shigatse Hotel or same level
Today drive via Yangdrok lake to Shigatse city, Shigatse city is the biggest city in REAR Tibet, any visit to Mt. Everest from Lhasa direction will pass by this city. On the way, enjoy the beauty of Tibet third holiest lake - Yangdrok, drive past the foot of Karola glaciers and paying a visit to Gyangtse Perkhor Choder monastery in Gyangtse town.
(Aug. 15) Day06: Shigatse to Lhasa
Meals: B/L/D
Hotel: 3* Xiongba-Lha Hotel or same level
While in Shigatse, visit Tashilunpo monastery, which is the landmark of this city and also the biggest Gelupa monastery after Lhasa area. After it, leave Shigatse back to Lhasa city.
(Aug. 16) Day07: Lhasa to Chengdu by air

Hotel: N/A
Say Good-bye to Lhasa, drive you to airport and take flight back to Chengdu. The whole tour service ends when you lands at Chengdu Shuangliu airport, you can decide where you go (to downtown area or connect flight to your next planned destination).
(If you wish to have service included when you get back to Chengdu airport, you can tell us before you fly to Lhasa, so we will have all things ready for you, for example, the air ticket for you to connect your flight).
