Yushu (Jyekundo) festival starts on July 25th every year

(Jul. 22) Day01: Xining to Qinghaihu Lake (3200M)

Today visit Famous Dongguan Mosque which is one of the 4 monasteries famous muslim prayer halls; then visit Ta'er Monastery which is about 25 kilometers to the south of Xining and was the birthplace to the founder of Gelupa order. After it, drive west to Qinghai lake, the biggest lake in west China. Overnight by the lake.

(Jul. 23) Day02: Qinghai lake to Gonghe to Mardo (4200M)

After viewing the sunrise over the lake, drive south to Mardo, a small town newly built by the upper reach of Yellow river. This town is small but clean, about 70 kilometers further west to the town, there are two twin lakes, the yellow river flows through them.

(Jul. 24) Day03: Mardo to Yushu (Jyekundo)

Drive further south to Yushu, on the way there, we will drive over the Pass of BayanKhara mountain (4850M).

(Jul. 25) Day04: join Yushu horse race festival

Today is the first day of Yushu (Jyekundo) Horse race festival, join and participate in their celebrations. Every year, the festival starts on the same day - July 25th and last 5 days.

(Jul. 26) Day05: join in Yushu (Jyekundo) horse race festival

(Jul. 27) Day06: Yushu (Jyekundo) sightseeing

Today, we will go and do some visits in Jyekundo, visit Gyanha Mani Piles Hill, Jyekundo monastery (Jiegu monastery) and Litang monastery at Litang village (about 30 kilometers drive to the west of Yushu town), the last visit of today is Temple to Wencheng Princess.

(Jul. 28) Day07: Yushu to Mardo

Today, leave Yushu (Jyekundo) back for Xining, stay overnight at Mardo.

(Jul. 29) Day08: Mardo to Heimahe to Marchen

Meals service: B/L/D
Accommodation: Marchen Telecom hotel

Drive northward to Huashixia, there, turn right to Marchen; Xia Dawu is the regional center of Guoluo Tibetan area.

(Jul. 30) Day09: travel to Mt. Animarchen and back to Marchen town

Accommodation: Marchen Telecom hotel

Drive 120 kilometers to base camp of Mt. Animarchen, spend hours there for sightseeing of the grand snow peak (6882 meters)

(Jul. 31) Day10: Marchen to Xining

Meals service: B/L/D
Accommodation: 3* Xining hotel or same level

Drive about 450 kilometers back to Xining via LhaGya monastery and Guide.

(Aug. 1) Day11: leaving Xining for your next planned tour destination

End of the trip, send you to Xining airport, you take flight to leave Gansu and fly to your next tour destination. if the next tour destination is arranged by us, all connecting transfer will be arranged by TAK service.
