Day01: Chengdu to Lhasa to Tsetang city ------L ----3* Snow pigeon Hotel

Taking morning flight into Tibet from Chengdu airport, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and start your tour in Tibet. The first visit today is Samye monastery, which is 50km to the east of airport, take boat to cross the river and visit the Smaye which is the first monastery with organic, monastic structure and systmatical study on Buddhism. In the late afternoon, get back to ferry, and drive to Tsetang city.

Day02: Tsetang to Lhasa city -------------------B/L ----3* Shangbala Hotel

In the morning, visit Yongbulakang palace (the first palace in Tibet), and Changdrok temple. In the afternoon, drive back to Lhasa. On the way, visit Mindroling monastery (the famous monastery for Ningma - pa sect, once the Fifth Dalhai Lhama was obsessed with the teachings and rituals of Ningma - pa order).

Day03: Lhasa sightseeing -----------------------B/L -----3* Shangbala Hotel

In the morning, visit the grand - looking Potala palace which was built in the 7th century for the King. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and stroll in the famous local bazzar - Parkhor street.

Day04: Lhasa sightseeing  -----------------------B/L ----3* Shangbala Hotel

Visit Tsepung monastery which is the biggest monastery in Tibetan area, by it is the Gandenpozang, the once political and religious centre and capital. From the second through fifth, there were 5 Dalai Lhama once living here. In the afternoon, visit the so - called Rose monastery - Sera monastery which built in 1419, is the third monastery of Gelupa order. Here you will have a sense of how Lamas are studying and debating on sophiscated phinosophy. Then visit Norbulingka, the summer palace of Dalai Lamas in Lhasa city.

Day05: Lhasa to Gyangtse to Shigatse ---------B/L --- 3* Shigatse Hotel or Shandong Hotel

Driving to the 4800m Gangpala pass to view the very charmful Yongdrok Lake which is though to be the second biggest and sacred lake in the belief of all Tibetans. If weather is good, you can see the Noijinkhamsang (7191m) to the direction of Gyangtse. At Gyangtse town, visit the Perkhor monastery and its unique Gyangtse pagoda. In 1903, a war broke our between British colonists and Tibet government. Gyangtse is an old town still keeping strong features of Tradition. Drive along the Nyianchu river to Shigatse.

Day06: Shigatse to Dazhuka Ferry to Yangbajing -------B/L -----Local Guesthouse (shared toilet)

In the morning, visit Tashilunpo monastery, which is the biggest monastery in Rear Tibet and the perminent residence fro successive Panchan Lamas in history. This monastery is housing the biggest Bronze - cast Future Buddha with a seated position. After worshiping the grand stupas, leaving Shigatse for Yangbajing. Lunch at Dazhuka Ferry. Here crossing the Yaluzangbu river and driving over Xugula pass to arrive at Yangbajing which is famous for its rich geothermos resouces and hot Spring. Overnight at the foot of 7162m Nyangchentangghula mountains.

 

 

 

Day07: Yangbajing to Daxiong to Namtso lake ---B/L --Local Guesthouse (no toilet)

In the glory of highland sunrise, drive north to Daxiong, then turn left and drive through the valley to reach the biggest holy lake - Namtso. It has an altitude of 4718m and around it are endless expanding prairie and snow capped mountain peaks, overlooking high from the sky, the lake seems to be a huge blue diamond lying in deep mountains and vast grassland. Enjoying the sunset over the peaceful blue lake.

Day08: Namtso to Lhasa --------------------------B/L ------3* Shangbala Hotel

After seeing the glory of sunrise over the lake, drive back to Lhasa. At Yangbajing, you can have a good time in the highland Spring (self pay). At Dadze county, optional choice to visit Chupu monastery (self pay) which is the first monastery of Kargyuel order in the history of development of Tibet.

Day09: Lhasa to your destination by air----B
