Tour Program
Day01: Chengdu to Lhasa by air
(Meals service: L/D; Accommodation: 2* hotel)
Go to airport by yourself, take flight to fly to Lhasa with group, meet at Lhasa airport then drive 100km to Lhasa city along the Yarluzangbu river, having your first touch to Tibet highland, enjoy impressive highland view along the biggest river in Tibet. In the afternoon, have yourself adjusted to high altitude.
Day02: Lhasa sightseeing
(Meals service: B/L/D; Accommodation: 2* hotel)
In the morning, visit the imposing Potala Palace - the winter palace for Dalai Lamas. In the afternoon, go and visit the Tibetans' Mecca -Jokhang temple and stroll in the local famous bazaar - Parkhor street for shopping.
Day03: Lhasa to Yangbajing to Lhasa
(Meals service: B/L/D; Accommodation: 2* hotel)
Driving 75km to the north of Lhasa to visit the famous Geothermos filed and the geothormos generator. If weather is good, watch the snow peak of Mt. Nyianchintanghula (7162m). Self pay for a spring bath there. Then drive back to Lhasa.
Day04: Lhasa to Gyantse to Shigatse
(Meals service: B/L/D; Accommodation: 2* hotel)
Drive to the west of Lhasa, over the Gangbala pass (4800m), view the pretty Yongdrok lake which is the second biggest holy lake in Tibet (water level: 4441m), then go on through the Karula pass (5150m) watch the giant glacier (7192m) by it. At Gyantse, visit the famous Perkhor monastery and its unique white Pagoda (built in 1418). These two visits are self basis, the price does not cover this; At late afternoon,drive to arrive at Shigatse.
Day05: Shigatse to Tingri (Xiega'er)

Accommodation: Xiega'er hostel, one bed in a multi beds room, shared toilet)
After visit to the Tashilunpo monastery which is the biggest and grandest monastery in REAR Tibet and houses the remains of passed Panchan Lamas, drive west to New Tingri (Xiega'er town). On the way there, you will pass two mountain passes over 5000 meters.
Day06: Tingri to Rongbuk monastery
(Meals service: B/L/D; Accommodation: Rongbuk guesthouse, one bed in a multi beds room, shared toilet)
After simple breakfast, drive to west into Rongbuk valley. Rongbuk monastery, built in 1899, belongs to Nyingmapa order (the red hat school of Tibet Buddhism) which is facing the grand and magnificent Mt. Everest. There is about 4 kilometers between the Rongbuk monastery and the base camp at the foot of Mt. Everest. Enjoy the sunset and sunrise over the highest peak of the world (8850.00M).
Day07: Rongbuk monastery to Lhasa
(Meals service: B/L/D; Accommodation: 2* hotel)
After viewing the sunrise over the 8850M peak, drive 630KM back to Lhasa (repeating the road we did in the past two days). Today the traffic is very hard, it will take about 12 hours to reach Lhasa. It is not unusual to reach Lhasa city at 11 o'clock at night. So be patient on today's tour.
Day08: Lhasa to Chengdu by air
(Meals service: B; Accommodation: no)
Taking morning flight back to Chengdu with the same group. Upon arrival at the Chengdu airport, the group dismiss.
End of this 8 day tibet (mt. Everest) travel

If your tour spans China May Day (from May 1st to May 7th), China National Day (from Oct. 1st to Oct. 7th), Tibet Shoton Festival (from Aug. 12th to Aug. 18th) and Tibet Nakchu Horse Race Festival (from Aug. 10th to Aug. 16th), the tour charge will be different.
