Trekking Routes

16 days tibet trek route (covering 8 days trekking arrangement)

Tibet is a highland featuring on high mountains and deep rivers. Its features of geography made itself cut off from the rest of the world for a long time, many adventurers from Germany, Britain, America, Japan and Russia had failed in 19th century and early 20th century on their way to Lhasa and to Mt. Everest because of reasons of nature and human. As a tour opeator in Tibet travels, we have gathered rich and helpful experiences on highland trekking. In Tibet, there are several nice trekking routes for trekkers and adventurers to take after their regular travel in Tibet, for example, after their visits to Lhasa, Tsetang or Shigatse.

the kumbum monastery at Gyangtse townStart your journey to Tibet with a spectacular flight over the snow capped Hengduan mountains. In Lhasa, visit the Potala, the famous palace of the Dalai Lama, Norbulinkha, the great Drepung Monastery and the holy Jokhang Temple. Walk amongst the crowded Tibetan market - the bustling Barkor Bazaar. Drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake - Yangdrok lake on the way to the historic town of Gyantse with its unique multi-storied Perkhor Chode Stupa. At Shigatse walk through the massive Tashilungpo monastery and visit the memorial 'Chorten' of the late Panchen Lama.
The trek will take you up the historic expedition route from Old Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery crossing the Langma La pass (5200m). Later hike up to the North Everest Base Camp and explore the Rongbuk glacier set directly below the massive north - face of Mount Everest. After gazing at the worlds highest mountain scenery from Rongbuk drive by way of the amazing Himalayas Highway to Kathmandu of Nepal.

Day01: Flying to Lhasa

Taking the morning flight into Tibet, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart - beating highland view along the Yalu Zangbu river (the longest river in Tibet, the lower reach in India is called Brham Putra river); in the afternoon, you are free for relaxing and more Oxygen.

Day02: Lhasa sightseeing

In the morning, visit the grand - looking Potala Palace, which was built in the 7th century for the King. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and stroll in the famous local bazaar - Parkhor street.

Day03: Lhasa sightseeing

Accommodation: 3* Xiongbala hotel or Century hotel

Visit the Tsepung monastery, which is the biggest monastery in Tibet. After lunch, visit Sera monastery and Tibet museum.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gyangtse

Meals service: B/L

Drive Lhasa to Gyangtse via Yamdrok Tsho (Turquoise Lake). In the afternoon, visit Phakhor Monastery, Kumbum Stupa and Gyangtse market.

Day 05: Gyangtse to Shigatse

Meals service: B/L
Accommodation: 3* Shigatse hotel or Shandong hotel

Drive Gyangtse to Shigatse. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Tashilunpo monastery and Shigatse market.

Drive Shigatse to New Tingri - Checkpoint - Small bridge.
Trek 2.5 hours till you go over a bridge then overnight Camp at the foot of the Zekula mountains.

Day 07: Trek (a hard trek )

Trek over the Zegula pass (5200m), at this pass, you can see 4 peaks over 8200m, then down to Zhaxi zong.

Day 08: Trek

Continue trek to Rounbuk river after passing by Qu Zong village.

Day 09: Trek

Accommodation: Rongbuk guesthouse

Trek to Rongbuk monastery.

Day 10: Everest base camp

Accommodation: Rongbuk guesthouse

Optional day - hike to Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk Glacier.

Day 11: Trek

Drive you to Qubu bridge, then start trekking from there. Trek 3 - 4 hours to the foot of Mt. Lamna La.

Day 12: Trek

Trek from camping site to mountain foot over the Lamna La pass.

Day 13: Trek to Lungjiang

Meals service: B/L/D
Accommodation: camping

Trek along the river to Lungjiang village.

Day 14: Trek to old Tingri (Ganggha)

Trek to Old Tingri by the river.

Drive over the Himalayas and down to border town of Zhangmu.

After going through China Customs, then cross the Friendship Bridge into Nepal.

End of travel (overland trip plus 8 days trek in mount Everest)

In three cases, you need to send us emails for a new price quotation

Expenses and charges caused by natural reasons and elements beyond the control of us (such as flight delay, flight cancellation, street protesting, war, mudslides, low water level affecting ship access, porter service charge if there is, hotel charges beyond the tour above, lose because of air delay or air cancellation)
5. Tips to your guide and driver through the tour.
6. Extra RMB20.00 per person in Potala palace.
